All building construction works must comply with the standards prescribed by the
Scottish Building Standards Agency

There are a few exceptions and we can advise you on your proposal should you need a warrant or planning permission.

In simple terms the Building Warrant is a detailed technical drawing & document that covers every aspect of the building work.

It is valid for three years and the construction work should not start until the warrant has been approved. We will make the application for you. The length of time it takes for the local authority to verifiy the application varies from Council to Council depending on the size and complexity of the proposal and any other adjustments required to the plans to show compliance with the regulations.

The Council upon request will make a final visit to issue a completion certificate to cover the work carried out. Your builder will also provide you with the relevant truss and electrical certificates to be returned to the Council.
